The National President , Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, CILT Nigeria, Barr. Mfon Usoro has inaugurated the Publicity Committee of the Institute, even as she charged the unit to uphold robust professional method in projecting the image of the foremost capacity building body.
Usoro who made the remarks recently, during the inauguration of the Committee which was conducted via a zoom meeting, however, stated that information dissemination is critical to the successful operation of any organization.
The National President reminded the members that this is a Standing Committee of the CILT National Council via the President and Chairman of the Council, (P&CC) Usoro further encouraged the committee members to embrace the spirit of teamwork and inclusiveness in reporting the activities of the Institute, its branches and chapters, stressing that “This is a sacrifice which the members are expected to contribute.
Although, she expressed her dismay for not having a standing committee on publicity and posited that it was the reason some of the activities of the Institute were poorly reported.
She harped on the need to engage the media for optimal publicity of the Institute. However, she informed the committee that the National Council is embarking on the transformation of the Institute, its Secretariat with the aim of achieving good corporate governance.
The committee members include; Bashir Ambi Mohammed, FCILT= Chairman; Prince FNCE Okorie, CMILT as the Vice Chairman; and Obarike Regina Bello, CMILT as member
Others are; Mr Jaafar Bello, MILT as member, Mr Itoro Effiong, member, Reynolds Shodeinde, FCILT, Daniel Olabinjo (ICT) member and Adekunle Adegbuwagun, (ICT)Member. In his inaugural speech, the Chairman of the committee, Bashir Ambi Mohammed assured the President & Chairman of Council(P&CC) that the Committee will give its best by professionally disseminating the activities of the Institute with the aim of enhancing the good image of the Institute via team work.
CILT NIGERIA, Newsletter Bashir, equally assured that the Committee will not betray the trust availed it to handle the pertinent responsibility of publicizing the Institute in good light.
Bashir, however concluded by appealing to all the branch chairmen, modes representatives, Vice Presidents of the West, North and East, Female Representative, Next Generation, Wilat and all members to inform the Publicity Committee of upcoming activities of the Institute for proper information dissemination.
