He was born in 1970 at Tilden Fulani, Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State Nigeria. At an early stage, Abdullahi attended Tilden Fulani primary school from 1977 – 1983 after which he proceeded to Government Science School Toro from 1983 – 1988 where he obtained the Senior school leaving certificate and a Certificate of conduct having being of  exemplary character during his time at the school. He was admitted to Katsina Polytechnic where he obtained a National Diploma in Public Administration in 1990. He proceeded to the University of Jos in 1990 where he obtained an Advanced Diploma in Public Administration in 1992. In a quest for Islamic knowledge, he enrolled at the Arabic Islamic Training Institution of JNI Jos in 1991. He joined the Nigerian Ports Authority in 1992 as an Administrative Officer, and held numerous positions in the operations department, and retired as the Head of International Trade Channels as a result of the 2006 Port concession. He joined the Dangote Group in 2006 where he currently holds the position of a General Manager Operations.

Abdullahi, also holds M.Sc. in Maritime Operations (Thesis Topic: Marketing and Development of Cardiff Port in Relation to the Single European Market) from the prestigious University of Wales,College of Cardiff in 1995. He is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (U.K), a Member of International Association of Maritime Economics. He has vast experience in Port operations and Maritime transport logistics. He is trained certified by International Maritime Organization (IMO) and has attended numerous training both in Nigeria and abroad which include, Port of Tilbury (London) 1993. Institute Portuaire Du Havre/I.P.E.R/I.M.O (France) 2001, etc. In 2014, he obtained an LLB Law degree (Thesis Topic: Legal Framework for The Protection of The Environment Against Oil Production in Nigeria) from the National Open University of Nigeria.

Being dedicated, hardworking, he served as Acting Managing Director Dangote Greenview Development on several occasions, Chairman Port Decongestion Committee on Access Road Lagos Port Complex, Chairman Promotion Committee Terminal “E”, Committee Member 48hrs Cargo Clearance at Nigerian Sea Ports, Member Port Consultative Council (PCC), Member Federal Government Hajj Delegation in 1994 and 2004. He is currently the Chairman Auction Committee and Member Tender Committee of Dangote Terminal “E” Apapa, Lagos, Nigeria. In recognition of his selfless and meritorious service and positive contribution to Fulbe society and Nigeria at large, he was awarded a certificate of honourat the 2011/2012 Fulfulde Annual day by the Fulfulde Promotion Club, Bayero University, Kano chapter. He was also elected to office as Representative Logistics of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport on the 29th October, 2016.

Abdullahi is happily married with children.
